iImprov - Bebop

The latest addition to the iImprov series by Jazz Apps Mobile aims to demystify the language of Bebop. This release consists of 9 comprehensive lessons and 8 JAM-A-longs.

Each lesson includes a thorough explanation, exercises, transposable notation, and audio examples with adjustable tempos. Moreover, acclaimed saxophonist Tony Bray provides demonstrations of many concepts at the conclusion of the lessons.

The topics covered are:

• Mastering the bebop scale by strategically incorporating half steps to encompass all twelve notes of the chromatic scale while maintaining suitable chord tones.
• Techniques for crafting extended musical phrases.
• Exploration of turnarounds and chord substitutions, with tempo-adjustable examples available for looping and transposing during practice.
• In-depth analysis of the Confirmation sequence.
• Different approaches to improvising over I Got Rhythm changes.

The JAM-A-longs are provided as individual files for each key, with adjustable tempos and indefinite looping capability. The included JAM-A-longs cover a range of essential bebop elements:
